After the mild winter and warm weather over the Summer months, a Summer and Autumn explosion of flea activity is forecast and it is therefore vital to regularly treat homes and furnishings, as well as pets, to avoid a serious infestation. Johnson’s relaunched 400ml aerosol kills fleas, larvae and other insect pests on carpets, rugs, soft furnishings, pet bedding, etc. It also contains a powerful long acting Insect Growth Regular (IGR) to prevent hatching eggs developing into fleas and give continuous protection in the home for up to 6 months. It is now recognized that treatment of adult fleas on pets is not enough to deal successfully with flea infestations, even with the use of spot-on treatments widely sold by the Veterinary Profession and Pet Stores. Regular use of a House Flea Spray is also necessary to deal with 95% of the flea life cycle, which takes place in furnishings etc. where hundreds of flea eggs, larvae and pupae develop rapidly into adult fleas and cause continual re-infestation of pets and homes. Regular thorough vacuuming of carpets, furnishings etc. is also recommended and wash or change pet bedding regularly.
